Purpose of the Position

Provide effective customer management, to include communication with Production Support Systems Manager (PSSM), the MSFC Engineering Directorate, and the MAF Integration and Operations Office (SF02)

Principal Duties/Responsibilities of the Position

  • Ensure Contractor personnel are made available to user(s)/tenant(s) upon request to provide support for operational activities
  • Provide recommendations with appropriate supporting analysis and rationale that result in optimal utilization of shared manufacturing and fabrication areas and resources
  • Perform management of NASA’s shared manufacturing and fabrication resources in collaboration with NASA personnel (e.g., the SF01/SF02 MAF Office and MSFC's Engineering Directorate) and user(s)/tenant(s), as necessary to successfully operate and manage.  This shall include:
  • Coordinating revisions to policies, procedures, and/or methods, as needed
  • Developing new procedures, as required
  • Developing metrics to ensure proper utilization of resources and continued productivity
  • Assisting in defining decision-making processes, conflict resolution, and effective risk management
  • Assessing effectiveness of facilities and facility operations, to include, but not limited to, assessments of the following
  • Report scheduling and logistics issues and resolutions.
  • Ensuring training of personnel, as needed.
  • Implement measurements and report metrics for project activities, assuring the shared resources fulfill the requirements of NASA and/or ISO guidelines and procedures, in meeting both the necessary technical competence and management system requirements, such that the shared resources shall consistently deliver technically valid results


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four (4) or more years experience of detailed planning and project management
  • Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Dexterity to operate office equipment as required by the position

Other Requirements

  • Must be a U. S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge
  • Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire)
  • Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid driver's license
